There is a way to provide bath safety for mobility patients without costly bathroom remodeling. The Shower Buddy eliminates the need for bathroom modifications that can run anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000 depending on how extensive the remodel needs to be.

The ShowerBuddy system is a uniquely designed waterproof wheelchair that has three parts: a shower base, a bridge that goes over the lip of the shower and the wheelchair. All three parts attach to each other so that the shower chair transfers over the shower lip via the bridge and onto the ShowerBuddy base.

When the chair contacts the bridge, it disconnects from its wheeled base and slides via runners over the bridge and onto the base. The chair will spin 360 degrees on the base to provide a thorough shower. When the patient is finished with their shower, the chair moves back across the bridge and back on its wheeled base.

The base can either be permanent, or if another person living in the house needs to use the shower, it can also be removed. It only weighs between 15 and 20 pounds. The chair also includes a commode and is can roll over standard toilets.

ShowerBuddy Features:

300 lb. weight capacity

Low Maintenance

Removable / foldaway arms

Height adjustable

Rolls over standard / elongated toilets

Lap / chest belts

360 degree rotation

Corrosion, mold resistant

Depending on the unit the price of the Shower Buddy ranges from $1995 to $2695.
